Pier Miranda Ferraro, 83, Italian Tenor Turned Artist Manager, Has Died

Active chiefly in Europe, the tenor made his professional debut, as Rodolfo in La Bohème, in 1951 at Milan's Teatro Nuovo, and gradually assumed more dramatic repertory over the course of his thirty-year singing career, which included Cavaradossi and Manrico at New York City Opera (1956), Don Carlo, La Forza del Destino and Il Trovatore at San Francisco Opera (1958) and appearances in Vienna, London, Paris, Barcelona and most of the principal opera houses in Italy. In 1985, he founded a Milan-based artist management agency.
