Miami Lyric Opera, a Company created to satisfy the needs of Opera lovers and the public at large in Miami area and to provide an accessible alternative for the enjoyment of the marvelous magic of the Opera.
The Company made its official first appearance to the public on October 31st. 2004 presenting a successful Gala Opera Concert at Manuel Artime Theater. Since than during these years, MLO has presented full stage productions of Verdi's La Traviata, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale and L’Elisir D’amore, Cavalleria Rusticana from Mascagni and Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci, Puccini’s La Boheme, Verdi’s Rigoletto and Rossini’s Barber of Seville among other.
Since the last couple of years the Colony Theater has become our house in Miami Beach where most of our opera productions are performed. Its location, comfortable seating and a convenient size gives the opportunity to enjoy the opera almost in intimacy with what happens in the stage.
For the 2008 Season we will present a challenging program including new productions of La Traviata opening the season, following with Lucia di Lammermoor, Madama Butterfly and I Puritani among other. New artists and conductors will be incorporate in the season together with orchestra and chorus enhancements.
The experience of the last three years, gives us at MLO, the motivation to work with energy, enthusiasm, professional capacity and dedication to offer better and renewed operatic productions.
We invite all opera lovers and the public at large to attend our future presentations and support this .
